Subject Songlist - Amazing Grace

Ok, it's not really a subject. However there are so many versions of this beautiful hymn that I wanted to do a post on it.

It's amazing how versatile this song is. There have been the most incredible versions done of it. I honestly can't think of one I don't like. I'm going to post a few of the best ones I've heard and that are my favourites.

Il Divo - Amazing Grace

Chris Tomlin - Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)

Stan Walker - Amazing Grace

Yule - Amazing Grace

All of these are so vastly different, it just goes to show just what talented people can do with one powerful hymn. These would have to be my very favourite versions of my very favourite hymn. I hope you enjoyed these! (and I hope the last one didn't surprise you too much! Enjoy the Christmas lights!)

Has anyone heard different versions to these? I'm sure you have! Please feel free to share them, as I'd love to hear them as well!

  1. I’ve noticed how versatile Amazing Grace is, too, and listening to different versions of the song is something I enjoy. Here are my two favorite versions of Amazing Grace, which are very different from each other.

    Todd Agnew “Grace Like Rain”

    Stryper “1,000 Years”

  3. I listened to them both, Jonathan! I liked the first one; the analogy of grace being like rain I really liked.

Not sure what I think about the second one though. :) It was pretty good! Thanks again for sharing. :D

  4. You're welcome. I've liked listening to different versions of Amazing Grace for awhile, so I'm glad you posted this and I got to share some I discovered.

A correction of my previous post: The Stryper song's title is actually "10,000 Years".
