In The Air, 21st April 2011

I don't think I will ever get over the exhilaration of flying. It's like sharing in the vision of men long ago who only dreamed of the day we could fly. The thrust of the engines vibrating my chair as we take off; grass and buildings a blur, gives you such a thrill, feeling so much power in one machine.

However the powerful feeling fades once you leave the ground. Looking down, the houses shrink, cars become like toys, people undefinable. Sky rises and bridges appear thin and unstable in their shrunken view. Wide beaches are reduced to ribbons, roads to threads. It makes me see just how small we really are; so insignificant, barely making a dent on the surface of this planet we call "Earth".

I see the vast sea stretching to the horizons; land become a small, indistinct pattern of greens and browns below. Clouds wisping by on a zephyr of wind eventually lock my view, and I marvel to myself that God even recognizes our existence.

  1. Good musings. I'm glad that He does recognize our existence and cares for us. :)

  2. Thankyou. :) I'm so glad He does too. Seeing how small we really are makes me not even begin to understand just how unfathomably deep His love is for us.
