Something I came up with that was partly inspired by What it Means to Be Loved by Mark Schultz.
The older man stared steadily into the eyes before him. The younger man’s gaze was confident and sure, yet tinged with excitement and uncertainty at the same time. They were eyes that begged trust, and yearned for acceptance. The older man smiled softly. Acceptance he had given, but the look of askance on his face touched his heart. He truly was the right one.
Still smiling, the older man gently handed his precious treasure to the younger, the young man clasping it tenderly. Eyes filling with tears, he surveyed that which he had given away –
The hand of his daughter.
