I saw this once in an email someone happened to forward to me. I thought it was amazing that, no matter what a popular brand can promise: God was it already! So I thought I'd share it here as a bit of a random read. (considering I've been wanting to print it out and post it on the walls of our mall for long enough, I reckoned plastering it on the internet was the next best thing. Also, not quite sure if all these brands are Australian... I'm sure y'all will let me know!)

God is like -

He is the real thing.

God is like -

He is the Spirit of Australia

God is like -

He never lets you down.

God is like -

He fits the legend.

God is like -
He relieves your pain.

God is like -

He makes you clean on the inside.

God is like -

He brightens and whitens.

God is like -

He is our ring of confidence.

I have been tagged by both David and Lisa! So I guess that means I have to write a mega blog post answering their questions and writing random things about myself... that should prove interesting, I hope. (Or else, very boring!) So, onto the rules and questions:

Rules of the game:

1. Post these rules.
2. Post 11 random things about yourself. (Though this can be optional.)
3. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you ask to answer.
5. Go to their blog and let them know you've tagged them. (or in my case, I'll just email!)

(Since I was tagged twice I need to do 22 random things about me. o.O)

1. I like white chocolate better than any other chocolate.
2. I can crack two stock whips at once, and also simultaneously.
3. I can type over 80WPM. (watch the smoke off my fingers!)
4. I'd prefer swimming under the water than on top of it.
5. I'm very competitive, especially at go-karts.
6. I don't like frogs or spiders.
7. I've been to Tasmania five times.
8. I don't like reading on the computer, it gives me a headache.
9. I like conspiracy theories. (Did they really land on the moon?)
10. I've fired a simulate M4 machine gun and a grenade launcher.
11. All my fingernails are really short from playing the guitar.

12. I love hanging washing.
13. I hate wet grass.
14. I've been thrown into a muddy dam.
15. I like to whistle.
16. I was once almost killed by a psycho horse.
17. I like climbing trees.
18. I love theological discussions.
19. If I could move to any place on earth, it would be Tasmania.
20. I am Anti-Doctor Who.
21. I love blank notebooks.
22. Everybody I first meet thinks I am six years younger than I really am.

Glad that's over. It was harder than I thought! On to the questions:

(This will be a rambling and most inarticulated post. You have been warned)

A few of you know that I was planning to go see "The Hunger Games" movie with my cousin and some friends from church last week. You also know how much I was looking forward to it as time grew nearer. Well, something happened.

I didn't go.

It wasn't because the car got a flat tyre or the movie was cancelled. I didn't go because at the very last minute, God convicted me not to.

Now before all the Hunger Games fans pull out their weapons of self-defence against me, let me first get these points out of the way:

  • I have read all the books so I know exactly what I was going to be in for before I decided to go and see the movie.
  • In spite of this decision, I hold nothing against The Hunger Games plot, characters, author, the lot. I still fully appreciate the story, and I believe it has great moral lessons and thought-provoking points to share.
  • Just because God convicted me of something about this movie does not mean it applies to everyone. I believe that God can often show different things to different people and - depending on the circumstance - can apply differently as well. (i.e., you don't need to feel guilty about anything I'm about to say if you've seen it!)
  •  I may end up seeing the movie at a later date. (big maybe, but still a maybe regardless)
So. What changed? Here is how it happened -

The night before the designated movie date, I went to bed feeling a little trepidation. Knowing what I did about the book, I knew there were some points that could potentially be quite graphic, and some of the aspects - though portrayed as wrong - could be quite disturbing. How would it come across in the movie? I thought. How was it shown? Could I handle it?

WELCOME

.................

Why hello! This blog is a scrapbook of my stumbling along in the footsteps of my Saviour-Friend, Jesus. This long obedience in the same direction of knowing and loving God is the most amazing, crazy adventure, and I'm so excited to share it with you! So whilst I put the kettle on for coffee, feel free to explore these pages. Thankyou for stopping to sit a while with me in His presence. It's where the journey begins.
